The Biggar Fairtrade Town Group is made up of representatives of local schools, churches and the community.

Biggar Primary has been a Fairtrade School since 2009 and Biggar High School is also a Fairtrade School. Building on this, the Biggar Fairtrade Town Group was set up in 2016 and Biggar become a Fairtrade Town in 2019.

Biggar is part of the South Lanarkshire Fairtrade Zone which also includes the Fairtrade Towns of Strathaven, Hamilton and East Kilbride.

The Fairtrade Town Group and Fairtrade Schools organise activities throughout the year including stalls, quizzes and coffee mornings, with a peak in activity around Fairtrade Fortnight in late February/early March.
